It's always better to have players that seem like they know what they're doing. The benefit of having more members is the fact that you can get gifts from them. They are like little money machines for you. You certainly don't want a bad reputation though by having bad players.

A few things I think help.

Do jobs with the highest Experience Per Energy. There is a list here: http://joeynovak.com/blog/hacks/mafia-wars-jobs-compared/ That shows the exact ratios. There used to be "Exterminate a rival family" that yielded 2.1 to 1, but they lowered it.

When you get an energy pack, and you have extra energy and are about to level up, you can get a head start on your next level by getting just one experience point shy of leveling, and then performing the most experience rewarding job (some times beating a boss). The extra experience from the big job will carry over to your next level.

Find an EXTREMELY experienced player and put him as your "Mastermind" this can yield up to 8% more experience per job.

Always invest profile points in extra energy points.

Whenever you have extra energy that you will loose when you level up, use it to complete un-mastered jobs for extra "Profile Points".

Save your god father points, and use them to buy extra "Profile Points" which you use to upgrade your energy.

Cheats, on a facebook game? Lol.

Simply add more and more people to your mafia, get the best equipment for attack/defense, but if you want the best, you’ll have to buy Godfather points…
